Choosing your hamster can be a really exciting, and seemingly simple thing to do. After all, how hard is it to walk into a pet store and tell the clerk you would like to buy a hamster? They show you the aquarium filled with hamsters, show you all the things you should buy and hand you a care sheet. But, to really get the most out of your hamster, you really should educate yourself on different types of hamsters, if two can live together, what they should eat, what is the best cage for your money, etc.
This past summer, my 7 year old got his first hamster. I grew up with lots of hamsters, but wanted to refresh myself with hamster knowledge before I bought one. I was amazed at how little, or sparse the information was. I had to go to several different sites before I felt close to being prepaired to bring home this little creature. I hope this blog can simplify this experience for anyone else who wants to purchase a hamster, or mabye has questions about the one they currently own.
